Together, we can make a difference.

| The Planetary Society has
proven impact. Recently, your unified voices helped save or give
life to these important scientific endeavors:
The Hubble Space Telescope
-
The twin Voyager deep space probes
-
The New Horizons mission to Pluto
-
Mars rover missions
It proves that when we rally
together, we can make a difference. It’s
time to do it again.
Help Save Our Science today. |

STOP THE WAR ON SCIENCE
Sign the Urgent Petition to the US Congress
NASA'S budget for scientific space exploration has been slashed. Vital programs
are lost -- we need your help to get them back.
Let them know that people
around the world care about space.
The US Congress will act on the budget shortly!
PETITION TO:
Senator Barbara Mikulski, Chair
Senator Richard Shelby, Ranking Minority Member
Senate Appropriations Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice, and Science
Representative Alan Mollohan, Chair
Representative Rodney Frelinghuysen, Ranking Minority Member House
Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and
Related Agencies |
As a member of The Planetary
Society, the world’s largest
and most respected space interest group, I join with my fellow
members to urge you to reverse the direction the U.S. Administration
is taking in NASA’s science programs. We strongly protest
the cutting of NASA’s science budget.
As of now, cuts to
NASA's budget have eliminated vital research and data analysis,
decimated astrobiology research, and stopped work on important
robotic missions to Mars and the outer planets. The cuts also
threaten the Vision for Space Exploration, and perhaps most dangerously,
could diminish the continued monitoring of Earth from space.
It’s critical that we Save Our Science. I’m sure
you know that one of the greatest benefits of planetary exploration
is a greater understanding of Earth and its global change. That’s
why we must act now.
Please support increased funding for U.S. space science and
exploration. Help us Save Our Science by restoring plans to explore
other worlds and better understand and protect our own. |
